ROLL & CLIMB is aligned with the 1st grade National Geographic Reach for Reading curriculum. This product includes 32 game boards for 32 weeks of reading instruction. This game is a twist on the Great Word Race. It is great for pair play, independent practice, early finishers, and literacy centers. For pair play, two game boards and 1 standard die are needed. Students take turns rolling the die and reading the high frequency word that matches the number on the die. The student then locates that word at the bottom of one of the ladders and colors the star in the space between two rungs. Play continues until one (or more) of the words reaches the top of its ladder (or until all the words have reached the top). Students love this game!
