The best definitions are co-created with your students: use different colored markers to put words, illustrations, and charts on your word wall cards based on discussion with students!
This resource has 371 Word Cards for both Math and ELA, as well as ideas for instruction and organization.
The theme is Garden and Gnomes (my classroom theme this year!) See my coordinating Garden Classroom Jobs, Calendar, Letters/ Numbers Cutouts and Banners, and Growth Mindset resources at my store.
A word about word walls:
Word Walls are organized based on how students will use them.
A word wall that is purely for copying spelling is different than a dynamic wall that changes and evolves over the year. A dynamic wall is used in an authentic way and deepens student vocabulary connections to the bigger ideas in the world and in academic language. When teaching these words, you will choose to connect them in an ever expanding web or sort categories...see my co-created chart ideas at the end of this resource, as well as my Vocabulary resource at my store:
This resource is NOT a sight word resource or worksheets. It is based on authentic, STUDENT-OWNED environmental print.
