This booklet contains 141 pages for you and your students to use during Calendar Math time!
The pages are set up for the "number of the day" which we interpret as the number of days in school. Each month follows with the consistency of Everyday Counts Calendar Math with students performing the same tasks in order for them to feel successful and gain place value and life-calendar-math skills.
Each month has a page for students to re-create the calendar. Adding the month name, day names, and dates. After the first few days of the month, students will be able to predict the shapes they need to place on the calendar days.
There are a set of skills for students to practice each month. Some skills recur throughout the year: number-line, ten-frames, base-ten blocks, clock, coins, writing the number in words, making an equation, skip counting, expanded form, making their own pattern, how to make 100, even/odd, weather report, etc.
Each month (except for August) has an extra page to practice other skills: sums of ten, clocks, shapes, etc.
In my classroom, we eat breakfast first thing, so it was imperative for me to have some sort of "morning work" for my students to do who were not eating breakfast that they could be totally independent with, feel successful, but was still important, and this is what I came up with! I hope you enjoy it! If you have any other questions or suggestions, let me know!
