Solve It! : The students will be asked to solve word problems using the information provided. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.1.OA.A.2
Comparing Numbers : The students will compare two different numbers and record which number is greater than, less than, or equal to. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.1.NBT.B.3
Find the Missing Ornament : The students will look at an equation and fill in the missing numeral to make the statement true. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.1.OA.D.8
Counting with Presents : The students will complete the number sequence by following the rule. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.1.NBT.A.1
Naughty or Nice : The students will look at different equations and determine if each is true or false. If the statement is true, the students will color in the present. If it's false, they color in the coal. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.1.OA.D.7
If, Then.. : The students will practice the basic principle for the commutative property while matching if and then statements. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.1.OA.B.3
Venn Diagram : The students will use this diagram to compare and contrast the adventures and experiences of characters in a story of their teacher’s choice. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.1.9
Sequence of Events : The students will use this diagram to draw illustrations to describe what happened in the beginning, middle, and end of a story of their teacher’s choice. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.1.7
Elements of a Story : The students will fill in the different Christmas ornaments with information about a story of their teacher’s choice. The elements include: setting, characters, problem, solution, and major events in the story. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.1.3
My Favorite Present : The students will draw a picture of the best present they’ve ever received. Then, the students will write three sentences describing the present. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.1.1
Punctuation Presents : The students will read a sentence and add the correct punctuation mark to the end of the sentence.
Capitalize It : The students will read different sentences and underline the words that need to be capitalized. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.1.2
Opposite Ornaments : The students will read different words and match each word to it’s opposite. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.1.4
Sentence Sort : The students will read several words and unscramble the words to make complete sentences. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.1.2
Word Sort : This cut & glue activity requires the students to read different words and sort the words into two categories. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.1.5.A
Verb Tenses : The students will read a sentence and circle the correct verb tense that belongs. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.1.1.E
