PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This lesson is compatible with ALL the First Grade Common Core Reading for Informational Text standards RI.1.1, RI.1.2, RI.1.3, RI.1.4, RI.1.5, RI.1.6, RI.1.7, RI.1.8, RI.1.9, RI.1.10.

It also covers the First Grade Next Generation Science Standard* for Earth and Space Science (1-ESS1-1), which states that the student will “[u]se observations of the sun, moon, and stars to describe patterns that can be predicted.”

This lesson explores science through English Language Arts by examining books about the solar system in great detail. This is the age where children begin to develop their sense of wonder about the natural world and space. Why not embrace that sense of wonder with this 54-page lesson all about the awesome night sky. This lesson also contains a hands-on project where the students will create their own model solar system.
