This handy packet has 20 pages of math review, perfect for the end of the first grade year. Use this to sharpen previously taught concepts or inform what you need to reteach. Students work at their own pace and it keeps everyone engaged!
Students won't even recognize they're reviewing with this fun incentive program. First, give students the 4 'white belt' pages. These review basic skills. When they correctly complete all of these pages, they graduate from white belt, and you can give them a white string or bead to keep track of their progress. Then they graduate to Yellow belt.
There are 5 levels of Math Karate, each review different and more challenging skills than the previous belt.
White Belt Concepts:
Counting to 120, numeracy concepts, Counting on, using 10 frames, patterns, adding with a number line
Yellow Belt Concepts:
2D Shapes, identifying coins, basic addition and subtraction, basic word problems, basic place value
Green Belt Concepts:
3D Shapes, Time to the half hour, Measurement with non-standard units, missing addends, addition to 18, Comparing 2 digit numbers, ordering lengths
Blue Belt Concepts:
Graphing, counting money, ten more/ten less, 2 digit addition and subtraction, true/false equations, shape partitioning, fact families
Black Belt Concepts:
Addition with regrouping, adding with 3 addends, place value to 3 places, time to the quarter hour, functions, comparing 3 digit numbers
