Make time to play games in math class!
1st graders are expected to be able to compare 2 digit numbers, and this activity will provide your students with fun and engaging practice.
This interactive resource is a collection of video clips which reveal 2 digit numbers.

Use this file in numerous ways. Here are a few examples:
Who will be the Top Dog?
Have a student come up and select a space on the board to reveal a 2 digit number. Have another student come up and select another space revealing another number. The student with the greater number remains standing, and the other student sits down. Have a third student come forward and choose another space and number. Continue until all spaces have been chosen.
Mark 6 places in the room which correspond to the 6 videoclips to be revealed. Have your students make predictions about which videoclip will reveal the largest number, and have them go stand in that place. Reveal the video clips one by one and have students check their predictions.
After completing a slide, have students arrange the numbers from least to greatest, or plot on a numberline.
Your students will want to repeat the fun activities you use. Numerous slides are included so the game can be played with different combinations and outcomes.
