This product provides First-Next-Last math story cards for 1st graders. In addition, to the stories, the 5-group card models of subtraction's "cross off" strategy are available to represent the WHOLE, PART, and MISSING PART. Finally, an ESL/ELL friendly image of the story is available as well.

This product makes asking questions like, "What information do we know?" and "What happens next in our story?" easy for the students to finally answer.

Add within 100, including adding a two-digit number and a one-digit number, and adding a two-digit number and a multiple of 10, using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method and explain the reasoning used. Understand that in adding two-digit numbers, one adds tens and tens, ones and ones; and sometimes it is necessary to compose a ten.
Count to 120, starting at any number less than 120. In this range, read and write numerals and represent a number of objects with a written numeral.
Count to answer “how many?” questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1-20, count out that many objects.
Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
