Elementary Music Lesson Plans (Bundled)

Included In This Product:
★20 1st Grade Music Lesson Plans. Lessons meet all of the National Core Arts Music Standards and were designed to last 50 minutes (this can vary depending on the skill and behavior of your students).
★Each lesson contains a shorter version called “lessons at a glance.” Each lesson at a glance contains the objective for that lesson, standards, new terms/concepts, songs, required materials, and optional materials. These are a great way to get a quick idea of what you will be teaching in each lesson as well as what materials you need without having to read through the entire lesson plan!
★1 Song list. This file contains a list of all the songs contained in the lessons as well as links to where you can find those songs and the lessons that those songs are used in. (NOTE: 10 of the 14 songs needed to teach these lessons are included in this product. The other four can be found for free on YouTube (SafeShare link provided) or can be downloaded on Amazon for around 99 cents per song. Links to those downloads are provided both in the lessons and in the song list.)
★233 pages of 1st grade resources (PowerPoint presentations, original song notation, posters, worksheets, word wall cards, and more!)
★Examples of resources included:
--8 original songs and 2 original warm-ups
All of the original songs include piano accompaniment. The piano accompaniment for each song requires beginner to moderate skill level. Sound files are included for each song and are in MP3 format. Recordings include both full score and accompaniment only. They were recorded using music notation software and do not include human voices singing the melody; although I recently added separate sound files of myself singing each melody to aid teachers who cannot read music.
--Music word wall cards that rhyme
--PowerPoint presentations introducing concepts such as tempo, dynamics, pitch, instrument families, the life and music of Duke Ellington, interactive rhythm cards, and more!
--PowerPoint presentations and listening glyphs to help students learn about music from the 1930’s
--Printable rhythm flash cards along with pictures and instructions for how to put them together
--Other printables including worksheets to practice drawing quarter notes/rests and eighth notes, rhythm icon composition activity, listening glyphs, writing prompts, and lyric sheets
--And much more!
★PowerPoint files come in both PDF and PowerPoint formats. All printables come in PDF. This product is not editable.

Important Notes About This Product:
✓A projector is required to use the PowerPoint presentations.
✓A Smart Board is not required but is helpful when utilizing portions of this resource. If you do not have a Smart Board in your classroom, simply allow students to click the mouse at your computer to view interactive features throughout the resource (some pages include clickable objects).
✓ Four of the lessons include PowerPoint presentations on the tambourine, triangle, cow bell, castanets, finger cymbals, and bongo drums. If you do not have these instruments in your classroom, I suggest showing the PowerPoint presentation and then using a different non-pitched percussion instrument for the remainder of the lesson. Two of the lessons require that students play simple melodies on a pitched instrument. Ideas of instruments to use for these lessons include bells and xylophones.
✓ Other materials needed to implement these lessons include: Two different colored soft balls, one button, non-pitched percussion instruments of your choice, pennies, colored pencils or crayons, scotch tape, sticky notes, and one stringed instrument of your choice (examples include a guitar, ukulele, or violin)
