*Essential Question Writing: How do plants change as they grow?

*Center 1: Vocabulary Roll
Roll the dice. Make up a sentence with the vocabulary word the dice matches. Everyone record the sentence. Use a highlighter to highlight the vocabulary word in each sentence.

*Center 2: Spelling Rainbow Roll
Pick a spelling card and roll the dice. Match the number rolled to the paper. Say to the group/write the spelling word from the card picked two times in that color marker or crayon that matches the dice.

*Center 3: Long a/Short a crayon Sort
Take turns picking a crayon. Say the word on the crayon. Decide if it is a short a or a long a word and place it on the right crayon box. Write the word on the recording sheet under the right heading.

Center 4: Contractions with not Go Fish *Mix the cards up and Pass out 3 cards to each player. All other cards are spread out face down in the middle of all players. Students will ask a players for the opposite of what they already have. For example: If a student has “did not”, he/she must ask for “didn’t”. If no one has that card, the player must GO FISH and pick a card from the middle pile. The player with the most pairs at the end is the WINNER!

Center 5: Noun/Verb Frog Sort
Take turns picking a frog. Say the word on the frog. Decide if it is verb or noun and place it on the right lily pad. Write the word on the recording sheet under the right heading.

Center 6: High Frequency Word Bee Swat
See how fast you can “swat” the bees by saying the word as you tap the bee with the fly swatter. Use a timer to time yourself or have a partner time you to see how fast you can see them. See if you can beat your own swatting time or your partners.
