I took the 1st grade Common Core Standards and turned them into student and teacher friendly “I can” statements and used those to create these Common Core rubrics. There are rubrics for each content area: Reading, Writing, Language, Speaking & Listening, and Math.
I chose the three basic things I want to know with these Common Core Rubrics. Does the student feel like they need help, they understand it or they are ready for the next challenge. The students fill out the Common Core rubric to tell the teacher if they need help, they've got it or they are ready to move on. These Common Core Rubrics can be attached to work, put in journals or used as exit tickets.
The Common Core Rubrics are four to a page and each rubric has the Common Core Standard listed on it. I also color coded these Common Core Rubrics. Math is blue, reading is red, writing is green, language is pink and speaking & listening is orange. They can easily be cut up with a paper cutter and stored in Ziploc type sandwich bags.
