Build problem solving right from the start with word problems with this free set of Back to School addition and subtraction within 10 story problems. Students work through the word problem scenario using pictures or ten-frames to solve, write equations, and then write their solution in a complete sentence. The half page format is designed to focus on problem solving without overwhelming students with larger numbers. The file is presented in two formats: with each problem duplicated twice per page in half sheets, or sequential problems printed two per page in half sheets.
