This is a year-long spelling/word study program that is sequential and spirals, so previous patterns are reviewed. Students will apply spelling patterns throughout the program with the activities and assessments provided. This program meets the CCSS Writing 1.2 standard and the VA SOLs objectives for demonstrating command of the conventions of spelling and applying the phonetic principles to spell.

Pictures are provided with the first letter. Students fill in the
missing letter to form the word.
10 Write and Rhyme Pages. Picture is provided, students write the
word. Then, they write a rhyming word in the next column.
24 Write and Rhyme Pages. Word is provided and students write 2
rhyming words for that word in the columns.
Pictures are provided at the top of the columns. Students write
the word in the column for that spelling pattern.
34 Dictation Sentences.
Teachers read the sentences and students write them which
meets the CCSS and VA SOL objectives of applying the
phonetic principles when writing.
Blank sheets are provided for review.
Progress Monitoring forms are also provided to document students' progress and mastery of the spelling patterns.
