Set up of daily workbook:
-The first week is a review of vowels, basic math concepts, etc
-each week has 4 review pages with the same set up: the top box is for Spanish review, the three middle boxes are for math review, the last 2 boxes are for reading review
-the 5th page for each week is a story problem that includes review of the reading and Spanish curriculum. It also focuses on the problem solving for the math problem. Reading standards are also reviewed on this page (setting, sequencing, who/what/where, etc) The focus shifts from Level 1 questions (if you are familiar with depth of knowledge) to Level 3 and 4 questions (the application of that knowledge)
-my students have very limited Spanish, so I'm making sure to scaffold each step of the way (each part builds on itself for Spanish, math and reading and progressively gets more difficult)
Since my dual language schedule really limits the time I can spend on reviewing concepts I'm teaching, I really needed something that students can work on independently or with little guidance during those "5" minute time periods (announcements, extra time before lunch, etc). This will allow my lowest performing students practice on a daily basis and is a great way for me to see what they are retaining.
I also use the Daily 5 and CAFE during my reading block, so this could easily be turned into a word work station or as an accountability piece for the day (must complete one page by the end of the block). This is an effective way to hit on those concepts that students don't often retain and provides a format that establishes a routine. I found this to be crucial with my students- especially with the common core, their depth of knowledge and what I am expecting of them.
Follow me to stay updated as I will be working on quarters 2-4 throughout the summer. Any input is greatly appreciated!

**Please note that the Spanish is basic and is mostly used in K-2 Dual Language/Spanish Immersion classrooms. However, it can also be used for Middle School Beginning Spanish programs. Please look at the samples and feel free to ask any questions regarding the level of content you are looking for. Thank you!**
