I prepared this biography writing for my 1st grade class.
We discussed the differences between biography and autobiography. We also read a few examples of each and talked about what made them entertaining.
I paired my students and they interview each other for this biography. They loved the task of being the “official reporter” with a clip board as they interviewed.
My students use the fill-in the blank to plan, and then the lined paper to write their final copy. On a blank page between the cover and writing, they draw a picture of person they interviewed. Finally, we stapled it together into a book.
To culminate the project, they shared their writing under the document camera.
