Product Description
Use these dice games as a fun way to practice place value.

You could use them as a center or in a small group or for partner work or independent work. They could even be used as fun homework assignment.

Students will roll the dice and then answer the place value question next to that number.

If you use these as a center, you may want to copy the answers onto the back of the dice games. Then they would be self-checking. If they are a center, you may want to pair up higher readers with lower readers.

Print out copies of the recording sheet for each student. They will need one copy for each game they play. If this is at a center, you could laminate the recording sheets or put them in a plastic sleeve to make change out of the center easy.

These games are 1st/ 2nd grade level. (basic place value-ones, tens and hundreds). You may have to read some of the word problems with or to your students depending on their reading levels.

Games 1-3 ask the following question:
“How many tens/ones are in the number___?”
Games 4-6 ask the following question:
“How many hundreds/tens/ones are in the number ___?”
Games 7-9 ask the following question:
“What is the value of the underlined digit?” (tens/ones)
Games 10-12 ask the following question:
“What is the value of the underlined digit?” (hundreds/ tens/ones)
Games 13-15 ask the following question:
“What is the expanded form of the number__?” (tens/ones)
Games 16-18 ask the following question:
“What is the expanded form of the number__?” (hundreds/ tens/ones
