During my Medieval Romance unit, I often ask students to make their own coat of arms or to make a coat of arms for one of the characters, maybe King Arthur or Lancelot. over the years, it’s become one of my favorite writing activities—that’s why I wanted to share it with YOU.
Included you will find 2 activities: a personal coat of arms and a character coat of arms. Each activity also comes with a matching writing prompt, which you can tailor to meet the needs of your students. Use this in ELA or in Social Studies, and you’ll have a great way to engage students and assess writing. Everything is ready to print and use today!
