The following strategies are included in this 60 page packet:

The product includes 42 four-square graphic organizers where students will solve an addition or subtraction problem using the four strategies listed above. There are ideas for how to use the four-squares as a teaching tool, a whole class activity/game, and as an assessment tool. You will also receive two self-rating scales where students rate their comfort using each of the four strategies. In addition to using anecdotal notes and grades to document areas of weakness, I have found that asking students to rate themselves helps them to develop a greater understanding of their personal strengths and weaknesses as well as take a greater responsibility for trying to improve upon their weaknesses. Having students use self-rating scales is also a great way for me to monitor their confidence levels and see where some students might need some extra practice to feel more confident when using a specific strategy. This product also includes examples of each strategy being used.
