If your students struggle with double-digit multiplication, these work mats will support them and boost their confidence as they work toward mastery. Not only do these graphic organizers guide students on the placement of digits, but they also help them organize and align the numbers. You'll notice a huge difference in how quickly they learn this skill when using work mats!
You'll receive 3 versions to choose from:
✅ Version 1 has a traceable zero in the second partial product to help reinforce this important concept.
✅ Version 2 does not have the traceable zero.
✅ Version 3 includes place value charts for extra support. These can be used with all students or for those who receive accommodations.
✅ Smaller versions are included for interactive notebooks.
There are at least 3 levels of each work mat to accommodate a range of multiplication problems.
➡️ Level 1 is for simpler problems such as 32 x 13, where each product is a single-digit number (no regrouping).
➡️ Level 2 is for problems such as 64 x 38, where each product is a double-digit number (regrouping required).
➡️ Level 3 is open-ended and can work with any level of difficulty. This is ideal for students to use when they first begin working independently.
➡️ Level 4 has very little guidance and can be used when students begin to show mastery.

To prep, print and place work mats in dry-erase sleeves. Students can then use Expo markers to complete the problem. This means no prep for future use! Place work mats in a binder for easy storage.
