Students will begin to practice subtracting two-digit numbers with these engaging cut and paste activities.
What kid doesn't love scissors and glue? I haven't met one yet! Cut and paste is all the rage in my classroom, and I'm fine with that! It keeps their little bodies engaged along with their minds.
This file includes 20 cut and paste activities for practicing beginner's two-digit subtraction. Students will subtract multiples of 10 from two-digit numbers.
Now, 20 activities that cover only one topic may sound like a lot, but these activities aren't meant to be used all at once. Put some in your sub tub, use one on a Friday afternoon when little hands need tasks, when you have to give that quick make-up test, when the lights go out and your technology-rich lesson is ruined. The review is great for everyone, and your students will appreciate the engaging format.
Students can complete these activities independently, so they make excellent bell ringers and morning work.
Another idea? If your students have wandering eyes, print three different pages. Pass them out so that neighbors have different activities. (You devious teacher you!)
Subtract & Compare (10 pages)
Subtract & Order (10 pages)
There are two types of activites included in this file. In Subtract & Compare activities, students will complete a subtraction equation, then sort by the difference (ex. greater than or less than 40). In Subract & Order activities, students will complete subtraction equations, then order the differences from least to greatest.
