Students use a paper clip and a pencil to spin a 2 digit subtraction problem.
Just a simple way to mix it up when working on 2 digit subtraction problems.
They can start out using manipulatives or drawing a picture, and move toward doing them mentally in their head. They can record their problem in their notebook.
Most likely these combinations will require them to regroup. The question at the top of the spinners says:
----Will you need to exchange a TEN for 10 ones?---
Encourage kids to answer that question each turn after they spin! That can be your lesson focus.
I also have this same game with addition!
