My 2nd-grade teachers swear by this unit!! If you are apprehensive about teaching subtraction with regrouping, this is the product for you!! Complete unit for introducing subtraction of two-digit numbers with regrouping.

☀️ Two scripted mini-lessons utilizing place value mats to lead students through the concrete (manipulatives), representational (model), and abstract (algorithm) stages for subtraction with regrouping. Includes instruction on problem-solving and recognizing the different types of subtraction (take-away, missing part, comparison).

☀️ A reproducible flowchart chart to give students as a reminder of when and how to regrouup.

☀️ A workstation for students to practice new skills independently. Includes student instructions and recording sheet.

☀️ A Google Slides file with instructions for students, slides mirroring the problems from the mini-lesson with moveable base-10 blocks for hands-on learning, and slides to provide with students additional practice solving problems and writing subtraction story problems.
