Here are TWO full lesson plans that include all components-teaching objective, aim, rationale, motivation, materials, standards, teaching, active engagement, link, and share. I use two books(Crow Boy by Taro Yashima and Each Kindness by Jacqueline Woodson) that are great for thinking about characters' feelings and traits, and ideal for use at the beginning of the school year, or when beginning a reader's workshop in fiction. You can use these lessons to compliment any unit of study that focuses on reading habits and/or fiction. I included pictures of the anchor charts you can create and use in the classroom, as well as student outcomes displayed. The only thing you need is the two books, which you may have, or can get at any bookstore or library. I use these lesson every year in September so it is worth purchasing the books. If you need a lesson plan for everything then this will save you a lot of time and you can stretch them across 3 or even 4 sessions. I included the standards for 3rd grade, but you can change them if you are teaching another grade.
