Product Description
When art students understand how to use perspective, they will be able to recreate the world around them with a higher degree of success on paper. Two point perspective is extremely useful for drawing exterior scenes and architecture. To draw using perspective, students only need paper, a pencil, and a ruler or straight edge.

This PDF file includes two booklets and two examples of two point perspective drawings created by high school students.

“2 Point Perspective How to Draw a Box above, on, and below the Horizon Line” is 16 pages long including the title page. There are step-by-step written directions and black and white illustrations that describe how to create 3-D boxes in perspective. The tutorial begins with creating a horizon line and vanishing points, and shapes are created easily with orthogonal and transversal lines.

“2 Point Perspective How to Draw a City” is 27 pages long with the title page. There are 51 step-by-step black and white illustrations accompanied by descriptive text that provides an example of how to draw a city scene utilizing the two point perspective technique.

After students practice using perspective by following along with these drawing tutorials, they should be able to create their own original artwork. These booklets would be great to use as part of a drawing lesson on perspective, or they could be used independently by students who want to create an outdoor urban scene as part of an assignment. The teacher can use these as reference during a demonstration, or the instructor can copy them and pass them out to the class. They would be useful to save prep time and can be left with a substitute teacher.

2 Point Perspective How to Draw Boxes and a City PowerPoint includes the same information, but it’s a PowerPoint presentation.
