Students have loved this 2-step equations review game. Students race one another around the Mario Kart track by completing 2-step equations. There are two different game boards, so students get to choose their player: Mario or Bowser. The first player to reach the checkered flag is the winner.
Students can use a counting token as their game piece and they will need a die or coin to move through the track. Before students can leave a space, they must correctly solve the equation. If the student rolls an odd number (or flips a heads), then he or she gets to move 1 space. If the student rolls an even number (or flips a tails), he or she gets to move 2 spaces. But be careful to avoid those banana peels and turtle shells!
This is great review game or enrichment activity (for fast-finishers after a test or quiz).
