Looking for a fun and interactive way to practice 2-step equations with fractions?
In 2-Step Equations: Return of the Fractions, students move around the room to solve equations with fractional coefficients and/or constants. After they solve all equations, they are able to answer the riddle “What did Han Solo say to Luke Skywalker the morning after May 3?”. This fun review is self-checking with all of the solutions in the answer to the riddle.
Note: ALL SOLUTIONS ARE POSITIVE and all equations can be solved whether or not students are familiar with operations with rational numbers. This can be used as a great extension activity for students just learning to solve 2-step equations or as a review for students who may need more practice before solving equations with rational numbers.
Depending on the level of your students, this will take 1-2 days to complete.
