This is a great activity to use with your math class (either individually or in partners). There are 6 different real-life word problems to pass around. Give each student 1 problem and put the timer on for 5-10 minutes. During round one students will work through the problem: showing their work, and providing an explanation. When the timer goes off, have students pass their paper on to another student. Restart the timer for 5-10 minutes. In this round, students will need to read the problem and assess their peer’s work; if the previous student didn't finish, the new student needs to complete the solution. If they agree, they need to either finish the work, and/or provide an explanation as to why they agree (explanation is on the back).
Depending on the amount of rounds, there is an extension/challenge on the back.
