What a perfect topic to encourage students' interpersonal communication skills in Spanish! Students will have tons of opportunities to use invitation questions as well as responses in these two lessons.
Each lesson includes all printable, modifiable materials as well as a slide show in PPT and Keynote format. I hope you and your students enjoy!
-Guided notes: How to extend, accept, and decline an invitation
-Activity: Conversation cards
-Review guided notes
-Sorting exercise: students will receive a word bank with different phrases and will sort those into "accept" "decline" or "extend and invitation" columns
-Variety brainstorm: Help students formulate multiple ways to invite people to an aquarium using this worksheet. They will be amazed at how many different methods of extending, accepting, and declining invitations they can come up with!
-Round Robin game: Students will toss around a ball or other safe-to-throw object. On the student's turn, they will extend an invitation, and the person who catches the ball must respond.
Materials needed: 1 ball, stuffed animal, or something that can safely be thrown
