I have uploaded my Do Now booklet for Unit 1: Of Mice and Men. It is throughout the course of 20 days (4 weeks). While I'm using this for Of Mice and Men, most of these activities could be used in the classroom without this text. It follows a five day rotation:
First: Response to Prompt*
Second: Daily Language Review 1 (DLR)
Third: Get #Woggy With it (WOG)
Fourth: Literary Device Review (LDR)
Fifth: Free Writes*
The cover page lists my expectations for how to complete these "bell ringers" and offers a variety of different types of Do Nows.
(WOG stands for Weekly Oral Grammar) This specific activity becomes a staple for the class where students correct the given sentence and one student is selected to put theirs on the board. The classroom works together to decide if the sentence is the best version of what it could be. Lastly, as a class we list what key terms and skills (subject/verb agreement, appositive phrase, etc) was used.
