Product Description
This set of 200 cards contains 50 sets of four cards. Each set of 4 shows synonyms for one base word. For example, the four cards for BIG include the words huge, large, gigantic, and enormous. Words belonging to a set are also framed by the same image (circle, star, oval, cloud, etc.)

The 50 base words in this set include: small, big, ran, hot, cold, walked, mixed, touched, bad, sad, happy, said, laughed, cried, yelled, pulled, looked, smart, friend, girl, boy, room, broke, clothing, child, color, stopped, sparkled, error, tired, mean, angry, scared, pretty, ugly, slim, kind, quiet, weak, hungry, tender, weird, hard, brave, strong, fast, funny, fun, interesting, and great. There is also a page of blank cards so you can add your own synonyms to the deck.

A “Teacher” page contains suggestions for utilizing these cards in the classroom, either as centers or whole group instruction.

There are sufficient cards in this set to create several different game sets. Keep a center ‘fresh’ by swapping out sets. Or divide the whole class into small groups and let each group play a rousing game of “Go Fish” or “Concentration”.

Applications:
Word Wall
Synonym Go Fish
Synonym Concentration
Synonym Swap (create a sentence using one or more of the cards, then swap for another card)
Geometry Connection (name the shape framing the word on each card)
