The set includes 12 calendars (September 2016- August 2017) and 12 resources sheets. Hang the calendar on the refrigerator each month and take the resource sheet with you to the library to gather the books for the month. The resource sheets also include links to easy activities.
Each week a theme is introduced with a wonderful children's book. If you can't find the main title, there are three alternative book ideas each week. Then, there are 5 easy to do activities included with each theme. Activities include literacy, math, art, science,
and character education ideas. You can choose to do as many as you want to fit your family's schedule.
How are this year's calendars different from the 2015-2016 set?
I received lots of great feedback on the calendars last year and wanted to make them even better this year. So, this year the set includes copies in black & white AND color. Instead of nine calendars, I've included the summer months too. So you get 2 sets (B&W and color) of 12 calendars. I've added newly released titles, more multicultural books, and non-fiction selections. Plus, I upped the alternative book selections from three to four books. Finally, some of the themes are new including a week focused on the election. Exciting, right?
