This is the most fun way I could think of to teach students about 20th century Virginians. With so many videos on Youtube about Arthur Ashe etc, this QR code activity (and Q & A note-taking sheet) is great for small group or partners.
Student groups also had the VA Our World History textbook out to look up people (like Linwood Holton #4) that do not have a QR link. I wanted to be sure they were doing a mix of reading the textbook and watching videos/accessing websites. Also this is good if you are short on devices to access QR codes.
Teacher notes on each Virginian are included (possible answers to student questions)
