If you are working with grammar skills bands, you need to have a test like this. Take all summer and write your own or download this one. It's not perfect because we weren't writing practice ACT tests at the time, and sometimes there aren't four choices, but it's a valid test of all 24-27 grammar skills in two separate tests, which means find out what they know, teach them, and then test what they've learned.
Each test has 42 questions and is divided into two parts. This was done to use the online Quizstar testing tool, which works better with shorter quizzes.
But that means you have a total of 84 questions testing all of the 24-27 ACT CCR skills in grammar.
Even if you don't want to teach the grammar or don't use ACT skills bands, don't you and your students want to know if they are in the 24-27 ACT range? Because it's targeted, you can see which skills need work, but you can also see if you need to work on lower-level skills or could move on to higher levels.
Do not be afraid if students get 50% on this test. It's supposed to be difficult. Be afraid if they still get 50% after you've taught the skills. Do it yourself before your district starts rating you based on whether or not you can do it.
Homeschoolers can find out where they stand when it comes to the ACT / College and Career Readiness skills. Hurry before I rewrite it in full ACT-like format and double the price.
