I developed the following charts to help students learn to identify and use Latin / Greek stems. I referred to Michael Thompson's Word Within the Word and the Merriam Webster Dictionary for my definitions.
I included five charts that are ready to be printed, each with five stems. From these 25 stems total, students could literally study over 100 words. In each chart, students are given space for the stem, the stem's definition, and a sample word (with definition) that contains the stem. When I review charts with students, I get them to flip the chart over and list as many as four sample words and write sentences with those words.
I also included the following:
1 Activity Sheet that can be adapted for homework or bellwork review of any stems list
1 Card Game Directions for a fun review activity after all stems are learned - my kids played this in small groups and really enjoyed it
1 Stems Creation Directions for another fun review / critical thinking activity. Kids LOVE this one.
2 Tests / Quizzes (Stems Lists 1 / 2 and 3) that could be adapted for any stems list
