My students are huge fans of the "Who Was"/"Who Is" biography series by Penguin books. In the thick of reading a big bunch of varied president and first lady biographies, I made these response sheets so students can look for specific information in each chapter without having to make a book-specific packet for each different biography. Alas, the Build Your Own Biography Book Report Reader Response Packet sheets were born!
These 26 sheets will help students to hone in on specific information within each chapter of any informative biography. Students will look for information about families, personal relationships, schooling, work, childhood, accomplishments, war efforts, and kind deeds, among others. Just pre read the chapter of the biography, look through the index of this product to find the best fit response sheet, and go for it!
This product also contains two biography posters, perfect for final projects or internet research activities - one version is intended for deceased people, the other for the still living.
I used these with my high-readiness second graders, but will likely best fit third or fourth graders.
