This packet contains 279 cards (PDF) with articulation exercises to use with Speech students to practice their sound. Examples include activities like:
•Recite the days of the week backwards. Use your best sounds!
•Think of 3 animals with your sound you could keep as a pet. Say each 4 times.
•Think of 2 instruments with your sound. Say each 5 times.
•Write down 5 words with your sound. Practice saying each one as you write.
•Say 10 words with your sound while doing jumping jacks.
•Think of 5 things that are red that have your sound. Say, “A ___ is red.”
•Name all the students in your class. Use your best sounds!
These exercises do require reading and solid phonological awareness skills, so they are probably more appropriate for those students in second grade and up. I like to use these cards with my older /r/ students a lot! These activities were taken from my yearly articulation homework calendars that are for sale in my store.
I am also including the blank 9-card template (in PDF) so you can create your own cards.
Hopefully these cards with shake things up a little and allow you to move away from the boring “drill and kill” of regular articulation therapy. They would also be great for Speech Stations.
