Do your students hate book reports? Well, not anymore!
Included is a list of 280 fun book report ideas for students to use after they've completed their book. I've compiled this list over the years.
You can laminate this list (or put in plastic sleeves) and let the students choose what they would like to do for their report. I get better results from their book reports, because they chose what they wanted to do and they get really excited about that power :).
I use these after a child has finished a book during guided reading and/or Cafe Reading. Students are then required to do a book report on that book. I give them a little time in class to work on them, but many many of my students choose to take it home to work on because they have more time and access to supplies.
P.S. When a student does a great job on a book report, I ask them if I can keep it for an example for future years. Most are willing to share, and then I have a great variety of book report examples.
