This math center is so sweet, and absolutely perfect for fall. This is a 2D shape sort using apples. Included is an adorable apple themed shape sorting mat. This mat guides the sorting of four shapes: circles, squares, rectangles, and triangles.
Also included are the manipulatives that your students will sort. For each shape, there is one page of 2D shape apples. To add some fun, I used both red and green apples for each shape. Print these pages back to back, laminate and then cut out the boxes. Now you have double sided apples of four different shapes. Your students will use these as their shake and spill manipulatives.
The activity pages (there are two) were created for using 10 apple manipulatives. Give your students 5 pieces of each back-to-back page. (I made sure to include PLENTY of apple pieces in case some get lost or if you wish to add more to your center for a larger sort.)
~Shake, Spill, and Begin Sorting~
(Just a note! - The shake and spill pieces can also be used for count and graph of color, patterning activities, and more. They are super handy and lots of fun. I only included the 2D shape sort but you can do so much more with these.)
I hope your students enjoy this center!
