This activity asks students to describe a 2D shape by identifying the number of sides, corners, and congruent sides the shape has. It also asks students to draw the shape and label it as a regular or irregular polygon.
Two nearly identical versions of this activity are included. The first version has the Canadian spelling of colour and the second version has the American spelling.
Alberta Program of Studies Links:
- Sort regular and irregular polygons by number of sides.
- Describe the characteristics of 3-D objects and 2-D shapes, and analyze the relationships among them.
