2D shapes for preschool and kindergarten.
Ideal for identifying shapes and learning how many corners each shape has as well how many sides each shape has.
Shapes used are: square, triangle, rectangle, circle, rhombus, hexagon, and trapezoid.
I first introduce shapes with these pages and this little book during the first week of shapes. I teach the kids to use the vocabulary words: corners and sides to describe each shape. This helps them tremendously because the vocabulary is familiar.
Then the following week, I use the words: vertices and sides to replace corners and sides. However, this unit does not use those words yet.
