Your students will love these fun and interactive shape activities! They will make a perfect addition to your centers or small group interventions! There are 8 activities included that focus on the 2D shapes: circles, triangles, rectangles, squares, and hexagons. Please note this is common core aligned for kindergarten so the five 2D shapes mentioned above are included.

→ Clip the Shape-Print, laminate, and cut out the clip cards. Students will look at the real object and clip the shape.
→Clip the Objects- Print, laminate, and cut out the clip cards Students will look at the shape and clip all of the real objects. Each clip card may contain more than one shape.
→Spin and Cover a Shape- Print, laminate, and cut out the spinner. You will need a pencil and a paper clip. Put the paperclip and pencil in the middle of the spinner Secure the clip with the pencil and use the paperclip to spin. Students will cover up the shape they landed on. Repeat until all of the shapes are covered
→ Roll and Trace a Shape- Assemble the die by folding on the dotted lines and gluing the flaps. I’ve included an optional black and white version of the die. Print and copy the worksheets. Students will roll the die. They will trace the shape that they rolled. Repeat until all of the shapes have been traced.
→ Sort it out! Print, laminate, and cut out the shapes.Set it up with the long shape headings at the top. Students will sort the real objects under the shape headings.
This is perfect for a center or can be used in a pocket chart during instruction.
→ Shapes around the roomPrint, laminate, and cut out the shapes. Print and copy the recording sheets. Hang up the shapes around your classroom. Students can use a clipboard for their recoding sheet. They will color in the matching shape on their recoding sheet. There is an answer key included so you can easily check students’ answers without moving around the room too! ;)
→ Dab A Shape Print and copy the shape papers. Using a dabber, students will find and dab all of the shapes. Each shape they are looking for is given at the top of the page. No dabber? Have students color in the shapes!
→ Make A Shape Included are two different mats. One in black and white to be printed on colored paper and one in color to be printed on white paper. Choose whichever fits your needs (and ink availability) best!
Print, laminate, and cut out the mats.
Students can trace the shapes using Play-Doh, Wikki Stixs, pipe cleaners, Pull ‘N’ Peel Twizzlers…ANYTHING! :)
Most of the activities are pretty low prep! There is a more thorough description of use above and included in the download. Some activities may need to be laminated so you can keep them for future use. Some items you may need with these centers are: paper clips (spinners), clothes pins for clip cards, erasers/bingo chips to cover shapes, dabber or crayons, Play-Doh, Wikki Stixs, or piper cleaners.
