2D color-coded posters that helps your students identify and describe two-dimensional geometric shapes. Each poster has vocabulary words with prefixes and other helpful hints that are color coded to grab the student’s attention, and give them a visual to categorize the information in their mind’s eye. Great for a word wall!
Each set includes:
• Set of 15 posters
• Five pages of two-dimensional notes for Math Journal
• Answer key for notes
There are two sets of the posters. One poster set has a purple border, and the other is more printer friendly with a black and white border. Each poster set has 15 posters for:
examples and non-examples of polygons
While one poster set does not have a purple border, it is important that these posters be printed in color so the students can see the color-coded information. I keep them posted in the classroom, and you can also print them at a reduced size so they will fit into student math journals.
The five pages of notes are written in a fill in the blank format, so students can fill in the information while discussing geometric shapes. Information included in the notes are number of sides, number of vertices, and number of lines of symmetry for each shape. There is a black line image of each shape so students can draw in the lines of symmetry. An answer key of the four pages of notes is included. There are also guided dot-lines for students to cut along so they can cut and paste the notes into their Math Journal.
I hope you find these poster set and two-dimensional notes helpful. They have certainly come in handy in my own classroom.
