2D Shapes contains a Rock, Paper, Scissors shape identification game geared toward first and second grade. During this FUN game, students identify: circles, triangles, pentagons, cubes, and 3 quadrilaterals which may be identified as: squares, rectangles, trapezoids.
This shape game is inspired by two of my childhood favorites games war and rock, paper, scissors. Like war, both players turn over the top card on their stack. But it is rock, paper, scissors that determines the winning card. At the top of each card there is either a Rock, Paper, or Scissors character. Rock beats scissors, paper beats rock, and scissors beats paper. A player with a winning character, must answer the question CORRECTLY in order to win the hand. The other other player may use the answer key to check a player’s answer. If the player does not answer their question correctly, the other player gets a chance to answer their question. If the other player answers correctly, they win the hand.
