This activity incorporates real world scenarios for children to practice using measurement. Students will put themselves in the shoes of a seamstress, teacher, doctor and other professions in order to measure a specific object.
Students first choose what measurement tool they should use and then actually use that tool to measure.
Included: 6 different task cards and directions
They use yardsticks, rulers, and measuring tape.
These tasks focus on the standard customary units of measure.
This is cumulative task for the common core standard of 2.MD.1 - make sure you have scaffolded this standard before giving the task.
