-21 days of smart board lessons: one lesson per day, each takes about 45 minutes
-all worksheets (70 pages) that correspond to the smart board lessons
-informal assessments are included throughout the lessons, as well as a formal pre and post test, plus daily exit tickets.
Your whole unit has just been planned for you! The smart board lessons literally walk you though every step of the lesson- it's so easy any sub could do it without needing a single lesson plan! And best of all... THE KIDS LOVE THEM! Here is how each smart board lesson is organized: (I do, We do, You do)
1. Begins with an "I can" statement that the kids read aloud
2. Attention grabber: link to a quick brain pop video, or song, etc. (If you don't have a Brain Pop membership, you can sign up for a free trial.)
3. Direct instruction: these are interactive with the smart board lesson, students are coming to the board and participating throughout
4. Partner Work: practice what we've learned with a friend using a worksheet or game. An interactive copy of the paper worksheets is also included in the smart board lesson. We often corrected these together as a class and then students took this work home. I used this work simple as practice, not for an assessment.
5.Independent Work: daily exit ticket. This is the piece that is done independently. This is the only part of the lesson that I physically graded. I love it because it's simple and to the point: did the child master the content presented today or not? Parents loved these because it showed the specific area where their child may have confusion. I also used the data from these exit tickets to form my small groups for extra support.
In Lesson #6 , students assemble a flap book. If you choose to use this, it can be downloaded for free in my store.
