Here it is!
I created this worksheet for my second graders. I wanted to see who really understood the concept of changing place values when adding/subtracting tens and ones. When they first saw the worksheet, they were overwhelmed by the amount of "work" they would have to do. 100 problems!! But they soon realized that it can be as simple as changing the place value!
This has been a breakthrough for my struggling math students. They do use base ten blocks but quickly see the pattern through repetition.
After a couple times, I actually had students who wanted to be challenged by being timed. We decided that 15 minutes was a good set time. This packet includes:
5 different versions:
A) adding tens to a 3 digit number
B) subtracting tens from a 3 digit number
C) adding 100 to a 3 digit number
D) subtracting 100 from a 3 digit number
E) mixed review
**Answer sheet for student self check or quick teacher check**
This can be used as a quick review, extra practice or assessment.
I will continue to add to this packet so keep a look out for updates.
