I had so much fun developing this unit and it filled a need at my school for graphing curriculum. With in this unit, students will be engaged in measuring, recording data, and graphing dinosaurs, their tails, their tracks and so much more. Students will learn how to use the data they collect to create tally charts, line plots, bar graphs and pictographs. All lessons are detailed, include objectives aligned to CCSS and number talks. This unit is awesome on it's own and can be a great supplement for many other math programs. This unit is part of my year long second grade math bundle. You can check it out here.

2 weeks of detailed lesson plans, (10 lessons) aligned to CCSS:
2.MD.A.1 Measure the length of an object by selecting and using appropriate tools such as rulers, yardsticks, meter sticks, and measuring tapes
2.MD.D.9 Generate measurement data by measuring lengths of several objects to the nearest whole unit, or by making repeated measurements of the same object. Show the measurements by making a line plot, where the horizontal scale is marked off in whole-number units.
2.MD.D.10 Draw a picture graph and a bar graph (with single-unit scale) to represent a data set with up to four categories. Solve simple put-together, take-apart, and compare problems1 using information presented in a bar graph
