This is a BUNDLE of my 5 Long and Short Vowel Movement Games (2.RF.3a) with each game focusing on ONE vowel letter (a, e, i, o, u).

These games were created to help address standard 2.RF.3a (distinguish between long and short vowels when reading regularly spelled one-syllable words)

2.RF.3a - Long and Short Vowels Movement Game (a)

PLAY!

- Display each slide (40 slides for game use) full screen onto class Smartboard and/or class projector. (These slides could also be printed out - 4 per page - and used as a small group center activity with a parent/assistant helper!)

- Teacher/Students will read each word and will determine whether the given word has a long or short vowel sound (this game ONLY works with long or short vowel sounds of the letter A)

- Students will STAND or SIT to give their answer.

OPTIONS: before answering, you can have students discuss with a partner, as a group, or individually. Choose the best method for your class!

Simple as that!

This is a great opportunity to quickly assess who's understanding and who needs a little help!
