How can you use this resource?
Cut out and laminate the shape cards.
Have students sort the shapes to the appropriate mat during center time, morning work, as an early finisher activity, etc.
Students can use the shape search sheet to practice shape recognition by counting shapes. They will search the real world objects and determine its shape. They will then count and record the amount. For example, they will search the picture, count all of the triangles in the picture and record the number of triangles found.
Students can use the color by shape printable to also practice shape recognition. They will color each shape a specific color, such as coloring all circles red.
The graphing sheet can be used in any way you choose. I use it as an extension to the shape search activity. Once students count and record the number of each shape in the picture, they can use these numbers to create a graph.
You can use these as worksheets for each student, or you can laminate them for centers/morning work/etc. so that they can be used with dry erase markers and then reused over and over!
