I made this resource to use during the "Phonics & Word Study" time with my students. After teaching students the phonics skill, I would have students practice blending sounds together in order to read each word. Under the same column, I would dictate some words (which are listed in the TRS under spelling practice) for students to practice spelling using the focus sounds. The lesson moves quickly, and the students get really excited when we correct each spelling practice together. On the backside is the HFW practice. For each day, I introduce two HFW. We say, spell, and say it together. Next, I provide my example sentences. Then, I have students work with a partner to write their own sentences using the new HFW for the day.
